Lumos has finally introduced a grid charger for their Eco and Prime solar system that allows you to charge the solar with NEPA or Generator.
I started using MTN Lumos in 2017 and am still using it to date. I have also shared a lot of information about the solar system in the past too. The good news is that you can no longer rely only on sunlight to charge and use your Lumos solar system.
I must commend Lumos for this initiative. Being able to charge the MTN Lumos through two different power sources ensures that you have constant electricity.
However, the Lumos Eco and Prime solar system initially differentiated from a typical inverter system due to their inability to charge using grid (NEPA) power. They rely solely on the solar penal to draw energy from the sunlight.
In case you don’t know, it is possible to construct an Inverter power system that charges with grid (NEPA) or Generators without the need for solar panels. On the other hand, you can also have a typical solar system that only relies on solar panels to charge, and that is how Lumos Eco and Prime solar systems work but not anymore.
To see the best solar/Inverter power system, you must set it up to charge with sunlight and a grid (NEPA) that guarantees maximum power supply.
Lumos has considered the possibility of charging the Lumos solar with the electricity grid. If you have grid access but wish to benefit from low-cost energy and uninterrupted service, you can now upgrade your Lumos System with the Lumos Charger.
A few hours of grid availability can recharge your Lumos battery and increase the time you can use your Lumos Yellow Box, particularly at night.
How much is the Lumos solar charger?
MTN Lumos solar charger sells for N18,000 and can be gotten from Lumos or MTN by visiting their nearest offices. You can also call their contact numbers to request the charger.
However, you can save the stress and order it right away from Jumia Nigeria at the same price of 18k, and it will be delivered to your desired location in no time.
What type of MTN Lumos solar charger should I buy?
My research on the Lumos charge shows that Lumos has two different grid charges for their Eco and Prime solar system, but I do not know whether there is any difference in terms of their charging capacities, but the price is the same #18,000.
According to my research, they have the one called Lumos B7 Grid Charger and the one they called Lumos B9 Grid Charger (Prime & Eco).
I believe that both chargers can charge both Eco and Prime) solar systems, but if you are using the Prime solar system, I suggest you go for the B9 Grif Charger. As for Eco, you can use any of the two types. They look the same in terms of design and as well work well in both solar boxes.
